Jenn Allen currently resides in Baltimore, Maryland, but is constantly thinking of her home state of Florida. While perusing her graduate degree in Photographic and Electronic Media from the Maryland Institute College of Art, she creates and photographs tropical landscape dioramas. After studying the works of Cindy Sherman and Gregory Crewdson, she became inspired to pursue photography. Her work explores the inauthenticity of photography as a medium. Color plays an important role in her work and she is heavily influenced by modern cinema. Her work has been nationally exhibited and along with photography, Jenn Allen is a writer for a Artborne Magazine. She has the opportunity to interview artists of all fields and write about the triumphs and struggles of contemporary artists. Some of her articles can be read here.
